Imagination = creation⠀ ⠀ Most creatives know this. But this is a reminder to not just creatives but to everyone else-- letting yourself pause during a busy work / school day and giving your mind room to imagine can yield the next great idea or in the very least create space to breathe easier. There are days where it is tough to stay positive--you may feel overwhelmed, scared, depressed, confused. This is completely normal. Life is hard. There is uncertainty at every corner. There are demonic forces at every turn wanting to turn you negative. But you are stronger than you think! you are in charge of your own mind. This is your greatest superpower. The simple act of thinking positive can change the course of how you experience every day, every circumstance. ⠀ ⠀ you may ask How can I think positive when ______ (fill in the blank)?⠀ ⠀ It's not easy, but you can because you have an army alongside you helping you defeat negative thoughts. Oh my it's been a long time instagram! I have to say I've enjoyed the break and I hope you all have had a nice summer. I have spent time with my growing boys and my new puppy😌 and of course my hubby. And I've been trying to figure out what to do with this acct. While I love drawing it really has taken away from my writing time so I'm conflicted.😫 ⠀ And as some of you may have noticed I've changed the name of this acct to Rad Love Nation. What is this? it's my attempt at Radiating Love across this hate-filled nation, to try and lift up people who are pushed down by negativity and well, life. It's hard being human so if I can help brighten just one person's day then I have succeeded. I'm considering creating a website of all things positive (but not cheesy inspirational if u know what I mean) but the details are still brewing...creativity takes time but it sure is fun. I don't know about you, but I often wake in a bad mood, which usually stems from the gazillion things I think I need to do during the day. So when I read an article about emotions in #PychologyToday recently I was thrilled to put their advice to the test. Guess what? It works! 💥bad mood gone. Maybe it's the endorphins from the exercise or the sense of purpose it's taken me years to discover, but I find myself in a good mood more often than not. when I see a couple doing something as normal as coming out of a donut shoppe I imagine whole stories about them...she was a damsel in distress; he a dashing knight. (so what if its a cliche); He was a lost soul & she saved him from an evil witch and they just celebrated their victory over evil with glazed donuts...I sometimes tell my husband my wacky stories, but he is not a creative and mostly he nods and says "nice". but Idc bc I am entertained by my imagination and that, my instafriends, is what matters. ⠀ ⠀ YOU must be yourself, YOU must live in whatever world makes YOU happy. YOU don't need approval from anyone to have your head in the clouds imagining enchanted forests and talking animals. YOU could be the next great fantasy writer or YOU could simply smile a dozen times during the day at your own humor and perspective in life. The other night I went to a party thrown by a parent of one of my son's friends. I sort of knew people, but didn't really know them. People at the party--mostly old friends who had known each other forever-- were laughing and having a good time and I longed to be back in a place where I had known people forever. Being the new person sucks at this point because most people don't want new friends. I regularly fight the urge to stay in bed and not try. But somewhere along the way I stopped sabotaging myself, took a deep breath, and began to make an effort. I found that most people are taken aback by friendliness, but some aren't. Some people are comfortable enough in their own skin and curious enough to let new people in their lives. These are the people I am drawn to, maybe it's survival or maybe it's because I like people who see life as a continuous opportunity to learn and to grow. I am fuelled by good conversation with new people and thrilled with the chance to connect with new friends--but on the flip side, I am super bummed when conversations die at the 'hi, I'm new' statement. I'm still learning to conquer that nasty, insecure tiny voice from 'little e', as I call her, who is stuck at the awkward 12 year old stage of feeling unlikeable, unfriendable, and just plain old socially stupid.⠀ .⠀ so today, I'd like to challenge you to say hello to someone you don't know. be curious and ask them who they are or what they do for fun.
