I'll #neverforget this day in 2001. I was sitting in my law office in NJ (in what feels like a lifetime ago) working on some legal brief when the phone rang and my husband working in NYC told me what happened. 9:25 am or so... it would be more than 12 hours later when I would see him. We had moved out of the city- Tribeca- a mere 4 months earlier. I had routinely stopped at the WTC in the mornings for coffee on my way to work. It was a surreal day, more strange than the current covid-world. We thought the world would never recover. In a lot of ways we haven't we've just changed. ... for all those lives senselessly lost, for all the fear that still follows us as we walk this earth...let us each be thankful for the life we have and remember how we all started -- with LOVE. let Love rise up today and everyday so we can honor all those who have left us.
As a self taught artist, I've been gaining confidence every day with my art-- through experimenting with new mediums and watching tutorials and studying other artists who appeal to me. Inspired by @charliemackesy I bought a nib pen and some Indian Ink...and some prismacolor watercolor pencils for the heck of it...I love procreate bc I can mess up a lot and fix easily. With the nib pen and ink it's a leap of faith as it's harder to fix mess ups. but it's a very satisfying process and even the simplest of drawings can look pleasant...at least to my eye--lol. Hope it brightens your day and reminds you that the world is an amazing place and we all have much to learn about our connection to it...
just a little pick me up as we start September and get back to school or work or life... you are beautiful and you are amazing. Your presence on this planet matters for we are all connected and you are a part of this connection.
the next full moon is coming on Wednesday. In case you didn't know, a full moon is a time to celebrate your growth and to reflect on how far you've come. Whether you realize it or not, you are making progress! yay!
